John founded SOAP in 2003 to blend communication and environmental activism into one discipline. John has worked with Fortune 500 Companies, Federal Agencies, Start-Ups and International NGOs helping them understand sustainability imperatives, modern culture and to architect communication strategies.
John studied Cultural Theory with Dr. Terry Caesar as part of his Masters degree, and blends an understanding of culture, language, messaging and the environment into creative communication opportunities that activate sustainability and social justice. He is a frequent writer and speaker on the intersection of Sustainability, Language and Culture.
John is the author of More Than Promote - A Monkeywrencher's Guide to Authentic Marketing, and a frequent speaker and guest writer about sustainability, marketing, language and culture.

Alisa is SOAP’s Vice President of Strategy and is charged with overall control of communication strategies and client satisfaction. In addition to being a partner in SOAP, she is an Accredited Public Relations professional. She approaches communication programs much as she has advocacy projects – from an asset-based community assessment perspective. Alisa understands the drivers of stakeholder engagement, transparency and communication strategies surrounding sustainability.
Focus: Client Engagement, Communication Strategy, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement.
Bil conceives of and implements social community engagement strategies and tools. He is equally comfortable establishing a brand identity for an international company as he is designing print collateral for a start-up company. Oh, and he’s an accomplished musician and web developer. What’s that? A quadruple threat?
Focus: Creative concepts, Graphic design, Experience design, Cisual design.
Bob is a US-registered professional engineer with over 20 years of progressive environmental consulting experience, with expertise in environmental assessment and baseline studies, and regulatory compliance for government and commercial clients. As a partner at SOAP, Bob is responsible for technical oversight of projects involving environmental data and reporting. He provides senior technical and peer reviews and is routinely recognized by client for quality work product and quality improvement initiatives. Bob is an excellent technical writer and reviewer with strong presentation skills. Bob works for SOAP remotely from his office in Hawaii.
